Our Editing versus AI

At Aun Learning & Research, we do not use AI in our editing. Lacking personal experience and consciousness, AI cannot get to know you, the writer. It cannot understand contexts nor make cultural judgements. It fails to catch satire, humor, emotional subtext, or creative expression. Critical thinking is at the core of editing, which AI is incapable of doing. Although it is now common among our peers to use AI in the first stages of copyediting, we made a decision not to do so.

We believe human creative effort shapes a text, both the authors and the editors. We value the collaborative process of editing with regular engagements with our authors. By doing so, our feedback is calibrated to ensure that your individual style, voice, and narrative comes through and that we meet your publication goals. 

As published scholars, we understand the value of your intellectual property. AI systems are prone to frequent fabrication, factual inconsistencies, and blatant plagiarism. We will always take tremendous care with your project. Our clients have noted that they appreciate working with real people with decades of experience and reliable credentials.
